KARACHI: Govt quarters’ residents seek President’s help

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, April 14: The president of the Pakistan Quarters Residents Society has drawn the attention of President Pervez Musharraf to a decision taken by the ministry of housing to issue eviction notices to the residents of federal government quarters.

He termed the decision a move to sabotage the referendum, according to a press release. He recalled that a decision had been taken way back in 1972 and again in 1997 that no retired government employee or a deceased employee’s family would be evicted from the quarters in Garden area, Jahangir Road, Martin Road and Clayton Road.
