New Delhi harassing leaders: APHC

SRINAGAR, April 3: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference on Wednesday accused New Delhi of terrorizing the body by detaining and harassing its top leaders.

“The arrest of Yasin Malik, assaults on him in custody, and the criminal attack on Abdul Gani Lone are graphic examples of the terrorist mindset of the government,” said an APHC statement.

Malik, who heads the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), was arrested on March 25 after the seizure of 100,000 dollars from a couple who allegedly confessed to bringing the money illegally into occupied Kashmir for him.

Malik, who is an executive member of the Hurriyat, has denied any links to the seized cash.

The Hurriyat said Malik’s arrest under a controversial new anti-terrorism law was “politically motivated”.—AFP
