Tight security for foreign players


LAHORE, March 20: Tight security has been thrown around foreign competitors participating in the US $ 105,000 Pakistan Open Squash Championship.

Officials told APP that the visiting players will be provided tight security cover.

The competition has attracted world’s top 20 players. The main round will be played at the imported portable glass sided court which Pakistan Squash Federation has bought from Germany at a cost of Rs 7.67 million.

Those are appearing in the qualifying round are: Muhammad Abbas, Amr Shabana, Wael El Hmdi, Mohammad Essam A.Hafiz (Egypt), John Williams, Dan Jenson, Raj Nanda (Australia), Renan Lavigne (France), Shahier Razik (Canada), Adrian Grant, Duncan Walsh (England), Kenneth Low, Mohammad Azlam Iskandar (Malaysia), Lars Hamrs (Switzerland), Ajaz Azmat, Mansoor Zaman, Shamsul Islam Khan (Pakistan), Imran Khan, Shahid Zaman, Safeerullah Khan, Farrukh Zaman, Zubair Ali Khan, Majid Khan, and Arshad Iqbal Burki (Pakistan). —APP
