Klusener recalled for final Test

CAPE TOWN, March 12: South Africa have recalled all-rounder Lance Klusener to a squad of 12 for the third and final Test against Australia at Kingsmead in Durban Friday.

Gauteng bowler David Terbrugge has also been recalled after Australia’s series-clinching victory by four wickets in the second Test at Newlands Tuesday. They lead the series 2-0.

Team: Gary Kirsten, Herschelle Gibbs, Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis, Neil McKenzie, Ashwell Prince, Mark Boucher (captain), Lance Klusener, Andrew Hall, Paul Adams, Makhaya Ntini, David Terbrugge. 12th man: Justin Ontong.

Gold bar back on offer

The gold bar on offer at the first Test between South Africa and Australia to any batsman hitting a billboard target with a six will again be up for grabs during all seven matches of the one-day series.

But any player who can hit the target, measuring 5 x 2.5 metres and set square of the wicket about 100 metres from the pitch, will win the monetary equivalent of a 404.5 ounces (12.581 kg) bar of gold from Gold Fields.

At the current gold price of US$292 an ounce, it is worth just over $118,000.—Reuters
