SHIKARPUR, March 12: Four persons were killed and 11 were injured, eight of them seriously, in an accident near Sultankot on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when a passenger wagon (LRB-9598) going to Jacobabad from Sukkur collided with a passenger coaster (RO-0729) coming here from Thul.

Four passengers of the wagon identified as Mohammad Idrees Soomro, resident of Sultankot, Mohammad Sharif Shaikh from Ruk Farm, Abdul Majeed Miral Baloch from Jhatpat, Balochistan, and Arif Mohammad Rind from Jacobabad, were killed.

Haji Abdul Rehman Shaikh, Mohammad Hassan Lashari, Saindad Shaikh, Maqsood Shaikh, all residents of Ghotki, Asif from Gujrat, Mohammad Siddique from Kandhkot, Hafeezullah Mehar, the wagon cleaner, and Ms Saleemi Mirali from Jhatpat, were seriously injured and three others slightly wounded.

The seriously injured persons were admitted to Shikarpur Civil Hospital while the three others, whose names could not be ascertained, were discharged after receiving first aid.

The police have registered the case.
