LARKANA, March 12: A large number of activists of the Sindh National Front (SNF) staged a protest rally on Tuesday against the greater Thal canal project.
The activists were led by Divisional Coordinator Dr. Roshan Ali Pechuho.
The rally started from the Dahesar House and after marching through different roads of Larkana ended in front of the Zila Assembly Hall.
Speaking at the rally, Dr Pechuho and Liaqat Ali Abro said that since the inception of Pakistan Sindh had been subjected to a stepmotherly attitude and projects like the Kalabagh Dam, inequitable NFC Award, and One Unit were the proof regarding this attitude.
They further said that tail-enders had more rights over the water of the Indus River in accordance with the Shariah, international and national laws, and the people of Sindh would not allow the robbery of Indus water at any cost.
They urged all social and political organizations to shun their differences and unite under one platform to act against the anti-Sindh plans like the Thal Canal.
They demanded the federal government to give up the project in order to save Sindh from complete destruction.
