KARACHI, March 8: The doctors in the city have decided to observe daily 15-minute token strikes from Saturday at all the healthcare facilities in the city as a mark of protest against the killings of doctors.

The decision was taken at a meeting held in the Arag Auditorium, Dow Medical College, here on Friday. A large number of doctors, medical students and teachers attended the meeting to register their protest against the killings.

DMC principal, Prof Illahi Baksh Soomro, who chaired the meeting, regretted the unchecked killings of those responsible for providing healthcare services to the people.

The meeting noticed that despite the presence of heavy contingents of police and related agencies, relentless killings of doctors continued and none of the killers were arrested; and if they ever were arrested no punishment given to them was heard of. The meeting slammed the inefficiency of the government to nab the killers.— APP
