KARACHI: Students’ week

KARACHI, March 2: The ‘Students Week’ at Pakistan Shipowners Government College began on Saturday with Qiraat and Naat competitions.

Ahtesam-ul-Haq of S.M. Science College won the first prize in the Qiraat competition. Hafiz Mohammad Kalim of Adamjee Science College remained second. The third position went to Naila Naseer of Government College for Girls, Korangi No. 4.

In the Naat contest, Shoaib Amir of Premier College was declared first. He was followed by Rizwan Medhi of the same institution and Shazia Habib of Sir Syed Girls College.

Maulana Intizar-ul-Haq Thanvi, the chief guest, distributed prizes to the winners.

St. Joseph’s: A students’ week will be held at St. Joseph’s Government College for Women from March 4.

Qiraat and Naat competitions will be organized on the opening day, whereas bilingual declamation and dramatics are scheduled for March 5 and 6.—APP
