PESHAWAR, March 1: Rich tributes were paid to Khwaja Ghulam Farid, a great Seraiki language sufi poet, by speakers at a seminar held on Friday.
The seminar was organized by the Pakistan Academy of Letters, highlighted various aspects of Khwaja Ghulam Farid’s life, poetry and teachings, states a press release.
The speakers, who also included the provincial minister for revenue, Aminullah Khan Gandapur, said that Ghulam Farid’s simple and soul-searching poetry promoted love and fraternity among the Muslims at a time of chaos and unrest.
The minister said that promoting Khwaja Farid’s teachings could help the people forge unity and brotherhood in their ranks.
The function was presided over by Prof Ashraf Bukhari.
