ISLAMABAD, Feb 22: A two-member team of the Pakistan Federal Union Journalists (PFUJ) on Friday submitted a memorandum to the US Ambassador over the killing of Daniel Pearl.

The delegation comprised PFUJ Secretary-General Fauzia Shahid and its Senior Vice-President CR Shamsi.

The memorandum conveyed the shock and grief of Pakistani journalists to the family of Mr Pearl, people and the government of the USA over the ghastly murder of a fellow journalist.

It stated that the murder was not only shocking for the journalist community in Pakistan, but it also made us reaffirm our commitment to work with renewed zeal for the promotion of peace by exposing extremist elements sowing seed of hatred in the name of religion, caste and creed for their ulterior motives.

The members of the PFUJ shared the grief and agony, which the death of Mr Pearl has brought to his family and friends in particular, and the American nation in general.
