KARACHI: Bodies set up to interview primary teachers


KARACHI, Feb 21: The government of Sindh has constituted special selection committees to conduct interviews of the candidates who qualified the written test held on Jan 6 for recruitment as PSTs in Girls Community Model Schools, established under the Government Primary Education Development Project in Sindh.

The committee constituted for Karachi is headed by the DCO Karachi with Mujeeb-un-Nisa Issani, project director of the GPEDP, as its secretary.

Its members include Dr Mujeeb Feeroz, district education officer (Colleges); Dr Muhammad Suleman Shah, Chairman, of the Sindh Graduates Association; Prof (retd), Syed Iftikhar Hussain Zaidi; representative of the Institute of Education Development, Agha Khan University, and the Teachers Resource Centre.

The committee set up for Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar and Tharparkar consist of the DCO of Hyderabad as its chairman and the members include Ejaz Ali Baig Mirza, executive district officer (Education), Hyderabad, as secretary, Brig (retd) Ghulam Rasool; Nizamuddin Memon, retired provincial coordinator, Bureau of Curriculum, Jamshoro; Prof Syed Qalandar Shah Lakeari, chairman, Sindh Goth Sudhar Sangat; Prof Idrees Ahmed Khan, retired director of colleges, Hyderabad; and representatives of the Institute of Education Development, Agha Khan University.

The committee for Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Naushero Feroze, Nawabshah, Larkana, Shikarpur and Jacobabad includes the DCO of Sukkur as its chairman and the members include Prof Rafia Naz Pathan, EDO (Education), District Sukkur, as its secretary; Allahdad Bozdar, retired director of schools, Sukkur; Sadiqa Salahuddin, chairperson, Indus Resource Centre; Mrs Maula Bux Larik, retired DEO, Project Director and representatives of the Institute of Education Development, Agha Khan University.

The committees have been directed to submit their recommendations to the government within 30 days.—APP\PPI
