Deadly Tariq strikes

LAHORE, Feb 20: Medium-pacer Tariq Mahmood took six for 43 to set up Lahore Whites’s narrow two-wicket win over Rest of NWFP in the Quaid Trophy Grade-I on the third day of the match at LCCA Ground Wednesday.

NWFP, who conceded 62-run lead on the first innings,  were bundled out for 189 in their second innings to set the home team a target of 128.

The Whites made a fine start with the openers putting on 52 but a middle-order collapse saw then reeling at 113 for eight. But first innings’ century-maker Tariq Rasheed guided them home by scoring an unbeaten 37.
