PESHAWAR, Feb 19: The United Municipal Workers Union has asked the people to make arrangements for drinking water and removal of offals of animals on Eidul Azha as the sanitation staff will be observing a closed holiday on Feb 23.

Speaking at a news conference here at the Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday, UMWU president Malik Naveed Ahmed and others claimed that Town-1 Nazim had banned the payment of overtime to the workers who used to perform their duty on a closed and gazetted holiday.

“The tube-well operators have not been paid the overtime against their weekly offs for the last two years,” he added.
