KARACHI: Nazim asks PS chief to abide by agreement

KARACHI, Feb 17: City Nazim Naimatullah Khan has said that the settlement reached between the chairman Pakistan Steel and office-bearers of trade unions included the officers. He stated this in a letter to the PS chairman.

In reply to the point raised by the PS chairman that despite the FIRs registered against some employees for their “acts of terrorism” no action had been taken, the Nazim recalled that the meeting on Feb 6 had been held in a very congenial atmosphere and it had been settled that no FIRs against the previous actions would be registered.

The Nazim said the police authorities were present at the meeting and probably that was why no action had been taken. He said any action against the officers might jeopardise the entire settlement. He expressed the hope that the chairman would ensure that the employees and the officers were treated in accordance with the agreement.—APP
