BVH restricts ambulance service

BAHAWALPUR, Feb 12: The Bahawal Victoria Hospital administration has restricted ambulance service for serious patients only, it is learnt.

However, medical superintendent Dr Abdul Qayyum denied any such order.

Additional MS Dr Altaf Malik said hospital’s ambulance service would be available only for serious patients.

Elaborating, he said the use of ambulances has been restricted as out of nine ambulances, two were out of order while seven ambulances, on the directive of government, have been reserved to meet any eventually.

With the restriction on hospital ambulances, poor people have been left at the mercy of private ambulance operators.

OPEN KUTCHERY: District Nazim Tariq Cheema has ordered a canal sub-engineer and patwari to return money received by them as illegal gratification from the complainant.

The orders were issued on a complaint at an open kutchery at Mithra in Cholistan.

The Nazim also directed their department to give them exemplary punishment.

He said the approved applications for the allotment of land in Cholistan would be scrutinized within three months so that ownership deeds could be issued to them.
