KARACHI, Feb 7: Students and other pedestrians are facing difficulties for want of an overhead bridge in front of the Government Urdu Science College on University Road.

“Drivers do not bother to halt their vehicles on both sides of the road probably because of the presence of the University Road bridge, causing problems for students and the general public, especially women” a faculty member of the Govt Urdu Science College said here on Thursday.

He said the construction of an overhead bridge was a major demand of students and area people and everybody influential in the provincial government had been approached to resolve the issue.

The University Road is one of the busiest roads in the city and sometimes people have to seek help from the traffic police to cross the road. Most drivers here accelerate the speed, causing inconvenience to pedestrians.— PPI
