Salary not paid to 40 teachers

By Our Correspondent

SWABI, Jan 28: About 40 women teachers of various primary schools have not received their salaries of December, as their service books have gone missing, official sources told Dawn.

They said the teachers did not know as to how much salary they would get under the revised pay scale.

Education officials concerned said they could not update the service books in accordance with the new pay scale, as they had gone missing.

The sources said that no new entries had been made in a large number of service books since l994-95, and that some service books contained no entry except the appointment letter.
