HYDERABAD, Jan 26: The Sindh Taraqqi Passand Party severely criticized the Sehwan police (Dadu) for arresting protesters who had taken out a rally for the employment rights of the local population in a multi-national company, LASMO, in Dadu.
In a joint statement issued on Saturday, Taraqqi Passand leaders Ali Hassan Chandio, Saleh Junejo, and Muzaffar Kalhoro said that the local people of Sindh had the first right over jobs in all the public and private sector organizations working in their areas.
They said that LASMO Company had recruited 3,500 employees out of which 3,200 were outsiders.
They said that this was not only cheating the job opportunities of the Sindhi people but also a flagrant violation of the law which would not be tolerated.
Condemning the arrest of the peaceful protesters, they said that the voice of reason could not be suppressed.
They warned the LASMO Company and Sehwan police to change their attitude failing which a protest movement would be launched against them throughout the province.
