PESHAWAR, Jan 21: The PPP (Sherpao) provincial council has decided to launch a province-wide campaign for achieving rights of the people and for the resolution of the problems the country is facing.

The members of provincial council asked the party workers to start brisk preparations for the forthcoming general election.

The meeting also resolved to make the 27th death anniversary of Hayat Sherpao a great success on Feb 8.

Addressing the council meeting, central party leader Sikandar Hayat Sherpao claimed that Aftab Sherpao had returned home to steer the nation out of crisis.

He said that the country needed his dynamic leadership at this critical juncture but the anti-democratic elements were bent upon maligning him.

He said such nefarious attempts were doomed to fail. The PPP leader rejected rumours about the deal with the regime saying the PPP(Sherpao) did not believe in covert deals and it would continue its struggle for the cause of the masses.

He condemned the police brutalities over the gathering of party workers that resulted in injuries to a number of party leaders and activists. He asked if it was a deal then why the administration restored to baton-charge and teargas. He said the police violence had vindicated their stand that the party leadership was committed to the cause of the masses.

He claimed that Mr Sherpao would guide the nation to the right path and fill the political vacuum of the country.
