Shaukat meets Afghan interim leadership

TOKYO, Jan 20: Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz held informal talks on Sunday with Afghanistan Interim Administration Chief Hamid Karzai, Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah and Finance Minister Hedayat Arsala.

The discussion took place at a reception hosted by Foreign Minister Ms Makiko Tanaka.

Mr Karzai in his speech at the reception referred specifically to his meeting with the Finance Minister of Pakistan.

The minister also exchanged views with US Secretary of State Colin Powell about the regional situation.—APP
