By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 20: Security has been beefed up at the airport and sensitive installations in the city after the firing incident at Lahore airport.

The Inspector-General of Sindh Police, Syed Kamal Shah, told Dawn that police had been put on high alert in Karachi. “We have deployed personnel of the Special Branch in plain clothes at various sensitive installations and the airport to keep a watch on criminal elements,” he added.

He said police had also been deployed at key points, foreign missions, and other sensitive places in the city. The deployment was aimed at providing maximum security to the people, he added.
