By Our Correspondent

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jan 18: More than 2,100 candidates have submitted applications for recruitment against 41 seats of regular police constables with SP Office Dera Ismail Khan.

With the separation of investigation and executive wings in police department under the new local government setup, these vacancies were created to meet the requirements of the department. Candidates, with a minimum Matric qualification, were invited to submit their applications by Friday.

Sources revealed that more than 2,100 applications were submitted till the last date.

Although a majority constitutes Matriculates, those having done their Inter, Bachelor and even Masters have also applied.

These candidates would not only go through medical test, physical fitness test but would also have to clear a written test to be held at police line on Jan 22. The number of candidates applying against 41 seats is an ample proof of the ever-increasing unemployment.

SSP Dera, Arif Nawaz, has claimed that the selection will be made purely on merit and no influence-peddling will be allowed.
