PESHAWAR, Jan 10: Cold wave has claimed six lives in the Afghan refugees camp at Jalozai near Peshawar.

Sources said these persons were killed due to lack of proper heating and other facilities at the camp during the past one week.

Nearly 80,000 Afghan refugees are living in this camp, 55 km off Peshawar.

The government of Pakistan has been shifting Afghan refugees from Jalozai to the refugee camps in Bajaur and Kurram agencies for quite some time. More than 5,000 refugees have so far been sifted to these camps.—PPI
