Waqas and Irfan share spoils
LAHORE, Jan 9: Devastating bowling by pacemen Waqas Ahmed and Irfan Fazil enabled Lahore Blues secure a big first innings lead of 118 runs against Sialkot on the second day of their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I match at LCCA Ground Wednesday.
Waqas (five for 45) and Irfan (four for 32) shared nine wickets between them as Sialkot were bundled out for 99 after resuming at 33 for two in reply to Lahore Blues’s 217.
By close of play, the home side strengthened their position by reaching 250 for seven in their second knock. for an overall lead of 368.
Bazid Khan, who featured in two productive stands, was batting on 76 with seven fours. The young right-hander put on 81 for the fifth wicket with Zia-ur-Rehman (43, eight boundaries) and 74 for the sixth wicket with Mohammad Hussain (37).
