Passengers robbed

KHAIRPUR, Jan 8: Seven unknown armed men blocked the traffic on the National Highway near Rasoolabad and deprived passengers of cash, gold ornaments, watches and other articles.

The robbers continued robbing for more than half an hour and then slipped away.

The passengers, and drivers blocked the road and observed a sit-in.

Meanwhile, police reached there and assured arrest of the robbers. On the assurance of the police, they ended their protest.

The SSP Naushahro Feroze suspended the SHO, Mehrabpur, and an ASI of the Halani police post for negligence of their duties.

SUICIDE: A married woman, Naziran Jogi, 30, committed suicide by consuming pesticides near Ranipur, taluka Sobhodero, on Monday night.

The cause of suicide is said to be a domestic problem.

COURSES: The SSP, Khairpur, Abdul Khaliq Shaikh has decided to arrange refresher courses for assistant sub-inspectors and sub-inspectors of police.
