Three killed in accident

NAWABSHAH, Jan 8: Three persons were killed and another was seriously injured as a speedy oil tanker hit a parked tanker on the National Highway near Kandiaro on Monday night.

A tanker was parked near Brohi hotel near Kandiaro when another oil tanker (BRO-4775) dashed against the parked tanker and overturned.

As a result Dilawer Hussain, 25, and Wilayat, 36, were killed on the spot while Badshah Gul and Mir Jan were injured. They were shifted to Kandiaro hospital where Mir Jan succumbed to his injuries.

Police have ceased both the tankers.

The bodies were sent to NWFP through Edhi ambulance.

RALLY AGAINST INDIA: A large number of people of Nawabshah including Nazims, Naib Nazims, and councillors held a rally on Tuesday to express their support and solidarity with the Pakistan army and to condemn India for threatening war and amassing forces along the borders with Pakistan.

The rally started from the Shaheed Chowk, Manuabad, and stopped in front of the press club.

The protesters were led by Sattar Qureshi, Nazim Riaz Zardari, Nazim Rao Saif, and Shafique Qureshi among others.

Speaking on the occasion, they said that the entire Pakistani nation was united under the leadership of President Pervez Musharraf.

They said that they would fight side by side with the armed forces if needed.
