KARACHI: Two MQM men acquitted

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 7: The additional district and sessions judge, Central, Riyaz Shaikh, acquitted two workers of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in a robbery case.

The judge exonerated accused Muhammed Imran alias Imran Dakait and Muhammed Ali from the charges as the prosecution could not prove its case against them.

The two workers were booked in the case in 1994 by the Jauharabad police.

CONVICTED: The additional district and sessions judge, South, Farooq Ali Channa, sentenced two house robbers to suffer rigorous imprisonment for five years.

Accused Arshad and Ijaz were convicted for robbing complainant Asim Abrar on Dec 8, 1997 within the limits of the Defence police.

The judge also sentenced their two other accomplices to a three-year term for keeping the looted property with them.
