Published January 6, 2002

KOHAT, Jan 5: The family of Qazi Hussain Ahmed, chief of Jamaat-i-Islami, has clarified a news item appeared in the issue of Jan 2, 2002, of Dawn that Qazi Hussain was languishing in the Tanda Dam Rest House which had been declared sub-jail.

The family said the JI chief was not even allowed to move inside the rest house and offer prayers in the mosque. They further said that he did not spend Eid in his home with his family.

They regretted that JI chief was shifted to Kohat in disregard to the advice of doctors who had recommended that he should be near to his physicians either at Lahore or Peshawar.
