KARACHI: Demos held against India


KARACHI, Jan 4: Various religious, social and student organisations staged separate demonstrations in front of Karachi Press Club (KPC) here Friday to condemn Indian aggressive designs against Pakistan.

These organisations included Anjuman Naujuwan-i-Islam, Pervez Musharraf Himayat Tehrik, Islamic National Front and Pioneer Human Rights.

Workers of these parties were holding banners with anti- India slogans. Some workers burnt effigies of Indian Prime Minister Attal Bihari Vajpai. They also raised anti-India slogans and their leaders condemned the statements of Indian leaders.

The Pasban Karachi and Young Muslim Ittehad staged a rally in Lyari area on Friday to condemn the aggressive designs of India.

A Pasban Karachi statement said on Friday that the participants of the rally marched in the area and chanted slogans against India for its aggressive designs against Pakistan.

Speaking on the occasion, the senior vice-president of Pasban Karachi, Shafi Ahmed, warned India that any misadventure on the part of India would be given a befitting response.

He said the brave armed forces of Pakistan will defend every inch of the country and that the people of Pakistan would also strengthen the defence of their motherland.

Hafiz Mohammad Shahjehan also addressed the participants of the rally.—PPI
