Anwar to skipper Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, Jan 1: The Hyderabad District cricket team left for Bahawapur late Monday night to face Bahawapur in their four-day opening match of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-1 clash starting there from Tuesday.

Anwar Ali will lead the side with Rizwan Ahmed as his deputy.

The squad: Anwar Ali (captain); Rizwan Ahmed (vice-captain);Imran Naseer, Faisal Khanzada, Shahnawaz, Ayaz Taifi, Javed Khan, Imran Alam, Aijaz Shah, Irshad Notkani, Hanif Malik, Iqbal Sheikh, Faisal Athar, Naeem Akhtar, Dansil Riyan, Shamim Basher, Suhaib Hahsmi, Faraz Khan and Asfandyar Jafri.

Akram Khan is the manager and Mirza Faheem Baig Assistant Manager. Imamuddin Deswali and Abdul Ghaffar are coach and assistant coach respectively.

Our Correspondent from Lahore adds: The Rest XI squads of Punjab, Sindh and  NWFP alongwith a Balochistan XI side have been finalized for the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy.

All the four teams are shortlisted from 25 probables to 15 by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

REST OF PUNJAB XI: Mushtaq Ahmed (captain), Aamir Bashir (vice-captain), Saeed Anwar Jr, Mubashir Ishaq, Sufian Munir, Mohammad Ali Niazi, Kashif Naveed, Hasnain Abbas, Mohammad Fazil (wicket-keeper, Azhar Abbas, Asim Butt, Shabbir Ahmed, Abdur Rauf, Farhan Ahmed Abbasi and Rizwan Ahmed.

Rest of Sindh XI: Hanif-ur-Rehman (captain), Shahid Qambrani, Akhtar Bangish, Adnan Ameer, Nasrullah Memon, Ali Nawaz, Javed Liaquat, Mohammad Siddique, Abdur Rahim, Abid Ali, Kashif Pervaiz, Kashif Ali, Mujahid Solangi, Ali Raza, Rizwan Qureshi.

REST OF NWFP XI: Bilal Marwat (captain), Sajid Shah, Asmatullah, Ibrahim Afridi, Adnan Raees, Imran Hussain, Shakeel-ur-Rehman, Mohammad Aslam, Riaz Afridi, Umair Khan, Haji Badshah, Majid Ali, Imran Durrani, Noorul Amin, Ahmed Said (wicket-keeper).
