DHQ hospital without surgeons

MANSEHRA, Dec 21: The patients and their attendants are experiencing hardships due to the transfer of two surgeons from the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital, Mansehra, Dawn has learnt through a source.

According to details the 450-bed district teaching hospital, is without a functioning surgical department.

Earlier, when the DHQ hospital was fully functional it served the districts of Mansehra, Battagram and Kohistan.

Around 200 patients, who visited the OPD daily, are facing hardships due to the transfers of the two specialists in surgery.

According to sources one specialist has left for Saudi Arabia on long leave, and the other has been transferred to Abbottabad.

As a result, most of patients who come from remote areas of Hazara division are being directed to hospitals in Abbottabad and other parts of the country.
