KARACHI: No water in Daryabad

KARACHI, Dec 19: The Mohallah Welfare Committee Daryabad Lyari, in a statement, here on Wednesday said that despite the promises made by the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board, the residents of the area did not receive a single drop of water even during Eid days.

A leader of the Committee said that the higher officials of the KW&SB had promised during a demonstration held on November 29 that water would be supplied within a week.

He claimed in the statement that despite the promise residents were still suffering

He said that the city Nazim at an Iftar party held at Bhitai Hall had set December 25 as the deadline for the provision of water to the area.

He expressed the hope that the commitment made by city Nazim would be fulfilled.—APP
