Published December 4, 2001

MULTAN, Dec 3: The Multan bench of the Lahore High Court on Monday asked the AAG to ensure production of record from the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday (today), on detention of Mian Idrees, an alleged narcotics smuggler.

Petitioner Mian Javed Siddiq said some 70 to 80 policemen raided his residence at New Multan on the midnight of Nov 26 and 27 and took away his brother Mian Idrees, a known businessman of Multan. He termed the arrest illegal.

AAG appeared before the court on Monday and informed the court that the ANF were questioning the accused.

Justice Muhammad Zafar Yasin directed that ANF should send its counsel to assist the court in the matter.
