Century in each innings by Qambrani

KARACHI, Nov 3: Talented Shahid Qambrani achieved a rare feat of scoring century in each innings of the match to put Dadu into the semifinals of Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-II on the basis of first innings after their two-day regional final against Nawabshah ended in draw at Makli Stadium Thatta Saturday, according to message received here.

Kotri-born Qambrani, who smashed 130 in Dadu’s first innings, again excelled with the bat, finishing 102 not out as Dadu made 268 for eight wickets in their second outing.

A former Pakistan junior international, who toured West Indies with Pakistan under-19 team five years ago, batted for just 102 minutes and faced 101 balls during his enterprising innings.

Dadu had made 316 for eight in their first innings to which Thatta replied with 265 for eight after having resumed on Saturday at 124-4.

Javed Liaquat, after brilliant batting display the other day, showed his class as true allrounder by grabbing seven wickets for 83 runs in 23 overs in Nawabshah’s first innings.
