By Our Correspondent

GUJRANWALA, Nov 3: Four constables of the rescue-15 squad were arrested on Saturday by the Satellite Town police on the charge of death in custody.

Muhammad Razzaq, Muhammad Nawaz, Sanaullah and Riaz Ahmad during patrolling had allegedly recovered an unlicensed pistol from Abdul Majid of Wahando village. They detained him at a private cell for some hours and demanded Rs25,000 as bribe for his release.

He informed his sister Surraya Bibi in Talwandi Musa Khan by telephone to arrange the required money to save his life. But, they shot him dead when his heirs could not arrange the money. Later, to save their skin, they alleged the deceased had committed suicide.
