PESHAWAR, Nov 3: The provincial president of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik, Khalid Mehmood Durrani, has condemned the US air strikes on the innocent people of Afghanistan and said that terrorism could not be eliminated through more terrorism.

Speaking at a press conference here at the press club on Saturday, Mr Durrani demanded of the US and her allies to give an immediate halt to the bombardment over the innocent people of Afghanistan and search for the political solution of the problem.

The PAT leader said the terrorism was not the solution to terrorism and asked the US to stop their attacks and said the Taliban should also hand over Osama Bin Laden to third party’s court for a fair trial and show leniency to the international brethren.

He said that this war has affected Pakistan much more and the already burden of the Afghan refugees have been increased in a phenomenal rate demanding of the international community to help Pakistan on this critical juncture and did not leave Pakistan alone.

He also on this occasion condemned the terrorist activity in the Bahawalpur church and demanded of the government to immediately brought the culprits to book. Talking about the Pakistani stand regarding the current scenario he said that this was the best initiative taken by Gen Musharraf and this decision has saved Pakistan from isolation.—PPI
