KARACHI: Swap of fishermen soon

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 22: A swap of 398 detained fishermen will take place between India and Pakistan by the end of this month.

In this regard, a seven-member Pakistani delegation left for Bombay on Monday to look after the arrangements for the repatriation of 292 Pakistani fishermen with their 21 boats.

A delegation from Indian had also arrived here on Oct 6 to take the custody of 196 detained Indian fishermen.

Both the countries had agreed on repatriation of the imprisoned fishermen a couple of months ago. However, the repatriation was delayed due to some procedural technicalities.

Haji Ghazanfar Ali Boota, manager of the FCS, said the Pakistani team, had left for India as an advance party to make preparations for the home journey of the Pakistani fishermen.
