ISLAMABAD, Oct 20: The National Accountability Bureau has recovered Rs71.84 billion since April 2000 after the institution of accountability courts.
According to NAB, the direct recovery includes Rs53.70bn from bank defaulters, Rs1.69bn through plea bargain and Rs5.06bn as fine.
The indirect recovery includes Rs5.59bn by PTCL, Rs2.84bn by CDA, and under process recovery to banks of Rs1.4bn from the Avaris, Rs1.5bn from the Lakhanis, Rs0.2bn of cooperative scam, Rs100m from customs duty evaders, Rs60m from Swabi Scrap, and Rs40m from Haji Munawar.—APP
