KARACHI, Oct 20: The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has withheld results of 4,829 candidates of the HSC Part I (Class XI) annual examinations 2001 of the Humanities (private) group.
The results were announced on Saturday.
A total of 8,422 candidates appeared in the exams, out of which the results of 3,237 females and 1,592 male candidates were withheld for non-fulfilment of formalities.
A senior official of the BIEK said that for the private examinations of the Karachi Board, most of the candidates were from other boards mainly from the upcountry.
They are required to submit migration certificates and their marks certificates were sent for verification from the boards where they had passed their matriculation.
Such candidates are also required to submit permanent resident certificate (PRC) and domicile or service certificate stating that either their parents or they themselves were serving with the armed forces or federal government or the multi- nationals.
As soon as the required documents would be submitted by the candidates their results would be released, the official added.
Meanwhile, of the candidates whose results have been declared, 1,136 have cleared all the six papers while 982 passed five papers.
The number of candidates who passed four and three papers was 677 and 478 respectively.
As many as 348 candidates were declared successful in two papers while 206 cleared only one paper.—APP
