KARACHI: Fishermen team leaves for India tomorrow

KARACHI, Oct 20: A seven-member fishermen delegation of the Fishermen Cooperative Society will leave for Bombay on Monday to bring back the released 202 Pakistani fishermen and their 21 boats from the Indian state of Gujarat.

Fishing sources said here on Saturday that seven boat-owners would leave by PIA flight PK-274 for Bombay early on Monday.

They said two Pakistani officials and two boat owners would also go to Gujarat after obtaining visas and police exemption certificates from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

Sources said the seven-member delegation was going as an advance party to make preparation for the return of the released Pakistani fishermen and the officials would join them in Gujarat for arranging passports and other legal formalities.

An Indian delegation is already in Karachi to escort 196 Indian fishermen and 32 boats back home.—APP
