KARACHI: Reckless driving claims two lives

KARACHI, Oct 20: Two men died and another was injured when a truck collided with a taxi-cab on University road on Saturday. The dead and injured were travelling in the taxi-cab.

Haji Khan, the taxi-driver, aged 40, Dhani Bakhsh, a schoolteacher, aged 30, died on the spot. Dost Mohammed, Haji Khan’s friend, was injured. He was admitted to a hospital.

The truck-driver escaped. Witnesses said that the taxi-cab was badly damaged.

CARJACKING: Eight vehicles were hijacked/stolen in the city on Saturday, the police said.

They were hijacked/stolen in Risala, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Aziz Bhatti, Preedy, and other areas.

ROBBERIES: Two robberies were committed, the police said.

Bandits barged into the house of Shaikh Hasan in Mehmoodabad and got away with cash and gold jewellery.

Dacoits robbed owner of a fuel filling station of cash in Khwaja Ajmairnagri.
