Morocco sends relief goods for refugees


ISLAMABAD, Oct 12: Two C-130 aircraft with 28 tonnes of relief goods, including packed food items and blankets, for Afghan refugees arrived at the Chaklala air base here on Friday.

A delegation of aid workers arrived with the aircraft carrying medicines for the refugees.

Kashmir affairs and SAFRON secretary Shafqat Ezdi Shah on behalf of the government of Pakistan received the goods from the ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Pakistan, Ahmed EI Rhaidi at the air base.

The Secretary thanked the kingdom and the people of Morocco for providing relief assistance to the Afghan refugees, and stated that the assistance would reduce their sufferings. He said the refugees were the most deserving population and the world community should extend more assistance for them.

Senior officials of foreign affairs, the ministry of KANA and SAFRON and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco were also present at the air base.—APP
