School collects ‘donations’ to pay power bill

GUJRANWALA, Oct 8: The Government Girls High School, Wahando, is paying its utility bills by collecting ‘donations’ from student.

Some parents told this correspondent that the school administration had paid Rs3,600 last month power bill after collecting Rs10 from each student.

The Education department, according to them, had refused to provide funds for the electricity bill.

They urged the department to pay running expenses besides hiring a principal and required teaching staff for the school.
