Another postmaster suspended

GUJRANWALA, Oct 5: The postmaster of the Naushera Road post office has also been suspended from service by the GPO authorities for selling used stamps.

GPO superintendent Anwarul Haq raided the Naushera Road post office on Friday and recovered more than 20 used stamps from the possession of postmaster Manzoor Husain.

The Climaxabad post office postmaster was suspended from service on Thursday for selling fake and used stamps.

CRUSHED TO DEATH: A trader was crushed to death by a truck on Sheikhupura Road near Tetley village on Friday.

Inaitullah was on his way to the village after purchasing a buffalo. As he got down from the moving truck, he was crushed under its wheels.

DEATH SENTENCE: An additional district and sessions judge on Friday awarded death sentence on two counts each to two brothers in a double-murder case.

The court also ordered to pay Rs200,000 in compensation. It acquitted two co-accused, Riaz and Sarwar, giving them the benefit of the doubt.

According to the prosecution, Afzal and Waris Ali had killed their sister, Robina, and her husband, Khushi Muhammad, in Maraliwala village on April 30, 2000.
