In concert: Fuzon’s Indian vacation

Agra, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad were on the itinerary for the first length of the tour. The idea of this tour was initiated in the month of September 2012 after the induction of Fuzon’s new and gifted lead vocalist, 22-year-old, Faisalabad-born Khurram Iqbal. This was his first official tour of India with the band.

Accompanying the band on stage were two session musicians, Mohammad Ali Zafar on bass guitars and Abdul Aziz Kazi on the drums/percussions.

Agra

After the success of the first show in Delhi, Fuzon travelled to Agra for the very first time. “The esteem, love and respect together with the cold weather made each and every moment exceptional,” recalls Shallum.

Fuzon performed to Tera Bina, Aankhon kay Saagar, Aankhain, Khamaj, Neendh na Aaye, Pyar na Raha, Soona Soona and many others on this trip.

Thoughts on touring India and leisure times

“Touring India is always fascinating, considering the similarity in culture, food, customs and traditions,” says Emu. “We were fortunate enough to meet many interesting people, and also met some old friends and made new ones.”

Says Shallum, “We spent a lot of time in Delhi. We had been there before on a couple of occasions but we had never consumed the immeasurable variety of mouthwatering foods.

“With the help of a friend from Delhi, we also visited the beautiful mandirs, churches, shrines and ghurdwaras. Because of the hectic schedule on our pervious trips we never got the opportunity to explore Delhi the way we did this time,” he adds.

Fuzon and Indo-Pak Series

Incidentally, the Pakistani cricket team started their tour a day after Fuzon’s arrival and the atmosphere during the matches remained electrifying.

“Being in India during the Pakistan-India cricket series for a cricket fanatic is an unforgettable experience, even though we didn’t see the team play at the stadiums. But wherever we went — be it a sports bar, a friend’s place or a park with large screens installed for public viewing — we thoroughly enjoyed being in India and supporting the efforts of both the cricket boards,” says Shallum.

Fuzon was also invited by NDTV to discuss their visit, upcoming album and the cricket fever in both the countries. The band also performed their hit numbers live.

Mumbai, the metropolis

The entertainment capital of India, the nucleus of showbiz and the thriving metropolis of Mumbai was next on the itinerary. In the past, Fuzon has shared the stage with Alanis Morissette in the city during the MTV Immies (2005) along with other successful concerts.

“Mumbai brought back a lot of memories. Our performance lasted for a couple of hours and each and every minute was worth the effort,” says Shallum.

The visit to Mumbai also gave the band an opportunity to develop their strategy for the release of their third album in India which will see the light of day sometime in March 2013.

The band’s last stop was the royal city of Hyderabad.

The Future

Fuzon will again tour India to release and promote the third album and also to perform. A song by the band will also be included in the soundtrack of an upcoming Bollywood production within a few months’ time. Fuzon has a world tour planned right after the album release.
