PM meets President Zardari at his new Bilawal House in Lahore

LAHORE: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Friday evening called on President Asif Ali Zardari at his newly built Bilawal House in Bahria Town, Lahore.

Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present during the meeting.

Sources told DawnNews that current political situation especially in Punjab, formation of caretaker government and seat adjustment with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) were discussed in the meeting.

The president also briefed the prime minister about his recent visit to the Britain where he attended third trilateral summit among Pakistan, Afghanistan and United Kingdom.

Prime Minister Ashraf, on the occasion, briefed the president on power shortages, law and order situation especially in Karachi, the devastation caused by the recent rains and various measures being taken by the government to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the country.

The president, while expressing his concern over the loss of lives and damage to property, advised the premier to make arrangements for providing relief to the rain-affected people.

Meanwhile, President Zardari, who is also co-chairman of the PPP, has called a meeting of the party’s central executive committee at the same venue on Saturday.

The top leadership and provincial and district presidents of the party are expected to attend the meeting.

Moreover, sources have said that the president has extended his stay in Lahore for four more days. –APP/DawnNews
