MURREE, Jan 7: House of a machine driver, Shafique Abbasi, was burnt due to gas leakage.

Shafique’s wife discovered the leakage when she tried turning on the gas heater but it was too late and the whole house caught fire.

According to Mr Shafiq, jewellery of his wife that the family had been saving for their daughter’s marriage was also burnt. Mr Shafique has appealed to Punjab Chief Minister for financial support.— Correspondent
