Outlaw gunned down in shootout

SHEIKHUPURA, Nov 20: A proclaimed offender was killed in crossfire with locals near Malikpur village in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The outlaw, Ismail alias Shaku, was looting people along with his three accomplices by placing obstacles on a road near Malikpur village.

As the locals came to know about the criminal activity, dozens of them armed with weapons reached the spot.

In the ensuing crossfire, Ismail was shot dead while his accomplices fled the scene.

Later, Sheikhupura police arrived on the spot and took the body in their custody.

The police said Ismail was involved in dozens of heinous crimes and wanted by Faizabad, Nankana and Sheikhupura police. Further investigations are under way.

COUPLE DIES: A couple died while their teenaged son sustained serious injuries in a road accident on Motorway near Sheikhupura interchange on Tuesday.

Manzoor Ahmad and his wife Shakila Bibi along with their son Abdullah were on their way to Rawalpindi from Multan by a car.

Near the interchange, a rashly driven truck collided with the car. As a result Manzoor and Shakila died on the spot while Abdullah suffered serious injuries.

He was shifted to the local DHQ hospital. Sadar police are investigating.
