LAHORE, Dec 9: Bangladesh Chief of General Staff Maj-Gen S. M. Ikramul Haq, currently on a visit to Pakistan at the head of a three-member delegation, called on Corps Commander Lt-Gen Zarrar Azim in his office at the corps headquarters here on Monday.
According to an ISPR media release, Gen Haq remained with Gen Azim for some time and exchanged views on matters of professional interest. The corps commander presented the formation crest to the visiting general as a memento of his visit to the corps headquarters.
Earlier, on his arrival on a day’s visit to the provincial metropolis along with his delegation members, the distinguished guest and members of his entourage were warmly received at the airport here by General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Afzal Muzaffar and senior military officers of the garrison.
The visiting dignitaries visited the Minar-i-Pakistan, Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque during their day-long stay in the city.
They showed keen interest in the historical background of the Minar-i-Pakistan. At the Lahore Fort, they went round Diwan-i-Aam, Diwan-i-Khas and Shish Mahal. During their visit to the Badshahi Mosque they were apprised of the historical background of the grand mosque.
They appreciated the architectural treasures of the Mughal era.
The delegation left for Islamabad in the evening.—APP
