Student held in murder case

ISLAMABAD, March 30: A college student was arrested for her alleged involvement in the murder of an official of the German embassy on Friday.

F.A.A, a resident of Saidpur, went missing on March 22 and his body was found from Rawal Dam on March 28.

The police will produce the accused in the court on Saturday (today) to seek her physical remand. Her father and brother, who are also charged with the murder, have obtained interim bail.

When the police raided the house of the girl at Bhara Kahu on March 28, it was found locked. Later, the police came to know that they also had a house in a colony of Quaid-i-Azam University.

The accused in their statements denied their involvement in the murder.

The girl (K.S.), a student at a local college, told the police that she had friendship with the victim and used to talk to him on the mobile phone.

Her father, a naib qasid in a ministry, and brother working in the computer lab of a university in the capital, told investigators that they had caught the victim with K.S. outside their house at Bhara Kahu on the night of March 22.

They said they pulled the victim inside the house and slapped him before letting him go. However, they expressed ignorance about the whereabouts and what happened to victim afterwards.

The call details of the victim's cellphone showed that he talked to K.S. several times on March 22. Besides, his cellphone was found switched off and no further record was available after he came to the girl's house. The autopsy on the body showed that he was strangled after severe torture.
